We’ve all heard the quote, a healthy body, a healthy mind and we hope you’ve seen the recent exiting news about Jon, all reasons why here at MAC we continue to back all things sport.

The Isle of Man Ladies Cycle Team, pictured here with Jon, are the latest sporting heroes we’re proud to sponsor. They’re made up of a very talented group of regular riders and aim to push ladies cycling to the forefront in the Isle of Man.  Team Manager Andrew Roche says, “They have a busy July coming up.  Starting with two team series events on the 7th in Oakley and 22nd July in Naseby, pro riders mix with up and coming riders making it a great series to inspire and show through and at the end of July, they will be racing in a three day tour of Omagh in Ireland, one of the main events of the year.  All of this wouldn’t be possible without the help of our sponsors who have really helped with the current projects.”

A bit of background…
Team members include riders from the Gotland, Island Games Team, two from a road biking background and one from mountain biking. Emily Looker has made an impressive move from the mountain biking scene to road racing over the last year and a half.  She has consistently placed herself in the top 3 ladies in the local races so far this year and is most definitely one to watch in the future. She’ll be racing alongside Eleanor Davies, a seasoned performer, Eleanor worked her way through the junior ranks and is now a regular Team leader for the girls.  The 19 year old was 4th at the Island Games road race and part of a Gold medal team.  Also in the team is Kate Priest, Kate was also part of the Gold winning Island Games team and raced for the first time in “Rás na mBan”, Ireland’s premier women’s cycling event last year.  Ellen Barker, will be riding with the IOM Ladies team for the second time in Omagh. Ellen, 17, who rides for “OnForm”, finished 2nd in the Ladies Isle of Man Championships this year.  She has been mostly racing in the UK this year competing in the Junior Road Races.  Newcomers Sacha Quine and Jess Carridge, complete the team.  Both talented riders who will be gaining valuable experience and aiming to make progression by competing off island.

We’re really proud to be sponsoring this talented group of riders and are looking forward to following their progress as well as seeing the profile of ladies cycling continue to soar.
