MAC Financial Limited (MAC Financial) is pleased to announce that George Richardson APFS has joined its advisory team as a Trainee Independent Financial Adviser, marking an exciting new chapter in his career with the business.
George joined MAC Financial in 2023 as a Paraplanner and quickly became a key member of the team, progressing to lead the firm’s paraplanning function. In July 2026, he moved into the advisory team as a Trainee Independent Financial Adviser, where he is now working towards being signed off to provide financial advice to both private and corporate clients.
In his new role, George will work alongside MAC Financial’s experienced advisers, supporting the delivery of tailored financial planning services while gaining valuable client-facing experience. As part of his training and development, he will attend client meetings alongside qualified advisers and continue building the knowledge, skills and experience required to achieve full adviser status.
George’s transition into the advisory team builds on a strong technical foundation. During his time as a Paraplanner, he played an integral role in researching and preparing financial planning recommendations, helping to ensure advice was accurate, compliant and aligned with clients’ goals and objectives.
His commitment to professional development has been demonstrated through a series of significant achievements. Having achieved the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in 2023, George went on to complete the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning in 2025, earning Chartered Financial Planner status. His accomplishments have also been recognised by the Chartered Insurance Institute, which named him Young Achiever of the Year in 2024. In March 2026, he was awarded the FPIBA Education Award for Academic Excellence.
George Richardson, Trainee Independent Financial Adviser, MAC Financial said:
I’m excited to be starting this next chapter of my career with MAC Financial. My time in paraplanning has given me a strong technical understanding of financial planning and the opportunity to work closely with our advisers behind the scenes.
Moving into the advisory team will allow me to develop my client-facing experience, attend meetings alongside colleagues and continue learning from experienced professionals. I’m grateful for the support I’ve received throughout my career so far and look forward to continuing my development as I work towards becoming signed off as an Independent Financial Adviser.
Ed Walter, Managing Director of MAC Group, added:
George’s move into the advisory team is a significant milestone and a reflection of the hard work, dedication and professionalism he has demonstrated since joining the business. He has made a considerable contribution to our paraplanning team and has consistently shown a commitment to delivering positive client outcomes.
Achieving Chartered Financial Planner status at such an early stage in his career is an outstanding accomplishment and demonstrates his commitment to both personal and professional development. We are delighted to support George as he embarks on this next stage of his journey and look forward to seeing him continue to grow and develop within the advisory team.
As he progresses towards full adviser status, George will continue working closely with MAC Financial’s experienced team of advisers, gaining exposure to a broad range of financial planning matters and supporting clients as part of the firm’s commitment to delivering high-quality financial advice.
