MAC Group is proud to announce the sponsorship of the first stage of the Isle of Man Youth & Junior Cycling Tour 2024.
Taking place over 4-5 May 2024, the Isle of Man Youth and Junior Tour will see 265 cyclists, from 11 age categories, competing across two days of highly competitive racing on closed roads. The event has attracted 215 competitors from the UK and Ireland. With categories catering to both youth and junior riders, the tour serves as a platform for aspiring athletes to compete, learn, and grow in the sport of cycling.
MAC has sponsored the first stage of the Tour, which will see eleven groups of competitors tackle the hilly Ellerslie course. The stage starts at 9.30 am with a 1km hill climb for Under-8, Youth E Girls and Boys, and finishes with 40 cyclists competing in the 86km junior race at 2.30 pm.
Richard Fletcher, from the organising team, said:
‘In addition to bringing in over 800 visitors to the Manx economy, the event provides a wonderful opportunity for our local kids to compete at the National level without having to travel to the UK. Having a local company like MAC Group supporting us helps meet the delivery costs of staging a national-level event, and it’s really appreciated that they have chosen to come on board for this year’s event.’
Head of Private Client Advisory, Ed Walter added:
‘Supporting youth sports is something that we at MAC Group are proud to be involved in. The Isle of Man Youth & Junior Tour provides a fantastic opportunity for our local young cyclists to compete against competition from across the UK and Ireland at a popular and well organised event. We are delighted to be involved and would like to wish good luck to all competitors.’
