We support and sponsor a range of activity based events and activities on the Isle of Man, and we’re delighted to share this recent update from our favourite ladies cycling team! The best part is that the number and ability of cyclists is growing, which is fantastic news and the reason we support!
“So far this year has been brilliant for the team, without Mac Group’s support it wouldn’t be possible.
Recently the riders represented the IOM in the Gibraltar island games, bringing back 2 individual Golds, 1 individual Silver, and 1 individual Bronze. They also took 2 team Golds and 1 team Silver.
A very successful games for us.
Locally, we’ve been riding all the local events as a team. That includes our local race scene as well as the sportives, (mass participation events), that have been on the island. Most recently the Cannacord challenge around the TT course last weekend, where Jess Carridge was the fastest lady.
We now have the latest round of the team series in the UK this Sunday in Naseby, where Jess, Hannah Howitt, Emily Looker, Becky Storie, and Ellen Barker will be representing the team.
The positive here is where we used to struggle to get a full team away, we now have to make a selection to do races away as more riders are getting involved. Brilliant to see.
After that we will be doing the 5 day Ras na mBan in Ireland which is an international event, one of the biggest in Ireland and the UK.
Race wise that will be the last one of 2019, and we’ll be then building to 2020 with higher hopes again.”
